My yard trimmer bit the dust a few months ago and about the same time I saw a commercial for this WORX GT WG151.5 18-Volt Cordless Electric Lithium-Ion String Trimmer/Edger. I was really skeptical about a battery powered edger but was intrigued by all the features this thing had.

• Adjustable height
• Pivoting head
• Quick conversion from trimmer to edger
• Spacer guard to protect plants

Then I found it on Amazon.com, and it had really good reviews. Amazon has a great return policy so I decided to go ahead and order it. I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised by this little bugger.

First off, let me tell you. It’s not as powerful as a gas powered trimmer. So if you have a lot of heavy duty clearing to do, this is probably not going to do the trick. But if you just have a standard 1/4 to full acre lot and you’re just doing basic trimming and edging, it’s plenty powerful enough to get the job done. I was really surprised by how much power a battery operated edger could do.

I haven’t had the battery die on me once either. Typically, I’ll plug it into the charger when I get ready to mow. By the time I’m done mowing, it’s done charging.

My favorite feature of the WORX GT WG151.5 Trimmer/Edger is the rotating head. I can switch it from trimmer to edger in just a few snaps so I don’t have to have two machines. Now it doesn’t edge as deep as a blade edger will, but it’s good enough to give me a nice clean edge around my driveway and sidewalks.

So all in all, I’m really impressed by the WORX GT WG151.5 18-Volt Cordless Electric Lithium-Ion String Trimmer/Edger and I would recommend it to anyone who just has basic edging and trimming to do on a standard lot.
